This energetic position involves performing thorough emissions testing on standard passenger cars, diagnosing mechanical and electrical systems, and providing exceptional customer service. As a key contributor, you'll help maintain environmental standards while supporting vehicle owners with professionalism and expertise. Your mechanical knowledge and automotive skills will drive success in this fast-paced, rewarding environment. Duties Conduct accurate smog checks on standard passenger vehicles, ensuring compliance with state and federal emissions regulations Perform vehicle inspections to identify mechanical issues affecting emissions performance Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment to perform necessary repairs or adjustments during testing procedures Assist customers by explaining test results, recommended repairs, and vehicle maintenance needs with clarity and professionalism Maintain detailed records of each test, including vehicle information, results, and any repairs performed Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire changes or basic mechanical repairs when needed to facilitate testing processes Use automotive electrical systems knowledge to troubleshoot issues impacting emissions or vehicle operation Requirements Proven experience operating standard passenger cars and familiarity with automotive systems Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair or diagnostics Ability to perform automotive tire changes and basic vehicle maintenance tasks safely and efficiently Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment Strong understanding of automotive parts, accessories, and electrical systems Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly Experience in auto estimating, vehicle inspections, and general automotive service procedures Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for vehicle inspections or repairs Prior mechanic experience is highly preferred to ensure thorough understanding of vehicle mechanics Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to environmental responsibility and exceptional customer care.
