Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our fast-paced dealership team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. Your enthusiasm, mechanical understanding, and exceptional communication skills will ensure a positive experience for every client. You will coordinate between customers and our skilled technicians, accurately estimate repairs, and promote additional services to maximize customer satisfaction and dealership profitability. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly, listen to their concerns, and accurately document vehicle issues to facilitate efficient service. Provide detailed explanations of recommended repairs and maintenance services, ensuring customers understand their options. Use estimating software to prepare accurate repair estimates, including parts, labor, and additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, or collision repairs. Upsell appropriate services by highlighting benefits that meet customer needs while maintaining transparency and integrity. Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of work while keeping customers informed throughout the process. Handle cash transactions, process payments securely, and manage service write-ups with precision. Maintain thorough records of service history, estimates, and customer interactions for future reference and follow-up. Qualifications Previous experience as an automotive service advisor or in a similar dealership or auto service environment is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, transmissions, brake repair, suspension systems, air brakes, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair, and other automotive repair specialties. Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools is essential. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers. Demonstrated ability in upselling services ethically while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Experience with auto service management systems and service writing is advantageous. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; driving is often required for test drives or vehicle inspections. Knowledge of dealership operations, collision repair processes, auto body repair procedures, tire service, oil changes, and general vehicle maintenance practices is beneficial. Strong sales skills combined with a passion for automotive repair and customer service excellence are key to success in this role.
