Job Description

Thorin Resources is looking for a full time mobile and stationary equipment mechanic.
Job responsibilities include:
Prioritize, diagnose, and repair mobile mining and earthmoving equipment, including trains, loaders, and haul trucks, among others. Prioritize, diagnose, and repair air-powered equipment, including slushers, tuggers, jacklegs, and overshot muckers, among others. Prioritize, diagnose, and repair stationary equipment, including cranes, buildings, and mill machinery, among others. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum 5 years experience working on mobile and/or stationary equipment. Experience at a mine site is a plus. Work space must be kept clean and organized.
Physical Requirements:
Lift and potentially carry up to 50 lbs. Operate a vehicle with a valid driver's license. Climb stairwells and be capable of working on elevated platforms. Walk on uneven ground. Sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body, arms and/or legs. The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Work Environment Work environment is an active underground mine site at over 10,000ft of elevation in the San Juan mountains. Mechanic must be comfortable working in an underground environment and occasionally on surface with snow. Shifts are 10 hours, Monday-Thursday, with opportunities for overtime. Tools will be provided. Company Thorin Resources owns the Revenue-Virginius Mine near Ouray, Colorado. The mine has historic workings and will produce silver, lead, and gold concentrates. The team is small, but is growing quickly. Location The mine is located a few miles south east of Ouray, Colorado. Most employees live in Montrose, Colorado. The mine portal is at 10,000ft of elevation with transportation provided between the main office in Ouray and the mine site.
