Job Description

Heritage Valley Ford - Putnam, CT Job Overview Join the Heritage Valley Ford family, where we value service to our teammates as much as our customers. We are looking for a motivated and skilled Automotive Technician & Fisher Plow Installer to join our fast-paced, reputable service department in Putnam. This dual-focus role involves performing traditional automotive maintenance while specializing in the installation and repair of Fisher snow removal equipment.
What We Are Looking For Experience:
Prior automotive experience is required. Experience installing Fisher plows or similar brands (Western/Boss) is highly valued.
Preferred Skills:
Forklift experience is recommended for handling heavy equipment and plow components.
Certifications:
ASE certification is preferred but not required.
Technical Skills:
Ability to perform diagnostics and repairs on engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics. Must be able to follow manufacturer install guides and wiring schematics.
Essential Requirements:
Must have your own tools and reliable transportation. A valid driver's license is required.
Key Responsibilities Fisher Plow Installation:
Expertly install Fisher snow plows and spreaders on various trucks and commercial vehicles.
Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot and repair plow hydraulic and electrical systems, especially during peak pre-season and in-season periods.
Automotive Maintenance:
Conduct routine vehicle inspections, fluid checks, and general maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.).
Safety & Organization:
Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all dealership safety protocols.
Professional Development & Growth Fisher Authorized Training:
We are willing to send the right candidate to the Fisher Factory Authorized Service Training (FAST) program to learn advanced troubleshooting and operation theory.
Ford Training:
