Full Job Description Position Summary:
Vector Fleet Management, an Amerit Fleet Solutions Company, is seeking a 2nd Shift Automotive Mechanic to join our team in the Washington, DC area . If you have at least two years of proven Automotive Mechanic experience or have graduated from a Trade School for Mechanics, Vector Fleet Management wants to hear from you! CDL "A or B" is highly preferred.
Compensation:
Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday!
Pay range:
$30.00-$38.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications!

Full benefits within 30 days Medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, life insurance, disability insurance 401(k) match program Paid time off and Holidays from Day 1 Commitment to your safety through boot and prescription safety glasses reimbursement Career and learning development with an extensive training program through our Amerit University Employee referral program, up to $500 bonus ASE certification program with fee reimbursement and bonus Employee recognition platform that includes opportunities to redeem points for merchandise Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 24/7 nurse triage line Employee discounts on cell phone service and entertainment tickets Employee resource groups (ERGs) that foster inclusion What the Automotive Technician role looks like: Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to light and medium duty vehicles Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary Perform other duties as required What our ideal candidate looks like: High school diploma or GED Automotive Repair Mechanics should have a minimum of two years hands-on experience or a combination of trade school and hands-on experience Must have the ability to perform preventive maintenance, diagnoses and repairs on autos and light trucks Complete set of hand tools and wheeled tool box suitable for daily use Acceptable driving record and pass drug test and background check Automotive Repair Mechanics with OEM training and/or ASE certifications are highly preferred
Working Conditions:
Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job. Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise. Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance Ability to move and position heavy objects Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
