Job Description
Mobile Trailer Technician Apopka, FL Description Florida Utility Trailers - Apopka is hiring a Mobile Technician to perform on-site service and repairs for semi trailers and related equipment. This role is ideal for a hands-on tech who enjoys field work, problem-solving, and helping customers minimize downtime. You'll operate from our Apopka branch in a company-provided service truck and travel locally to customer sites. What You'll Do Respond to mobile service calls for trailer-related repairs and diagnostics Inspect and troubleshoot issues and determine the most efficient repair plan Perform repairs such as: Air/brake systems (lines, chambers, valves, leaks, adjustments) Electrical/lighting (wiring, connectors, lamps, ABS troubleshooting basics) Suspension and running gear (springs, hangers, torque arms, alignment checks) Doors, roll-up components, landing gear, mudflaps, rails, and other trailer hardware Perform preventative maintenance inspections and DOT-style checks as needed Document work performed (labor/parts/notes) accurately and submit completed work orders Communicate clearly with dispatch/service advisors and customers on findings and repair recommendations Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory on the service truck Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times What We're Looking For Experience performing mechanical repairs in a field/mobile environment (trailers, heavy-duty, fleet, or equipment repair) Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently Customer-first mindset with professional communication Ability to prioritize multiple calls and manage time efficiently Requirements Requirements Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work (bending, kneeling, climbing around trailers) Basic computer/tablet skills for work orders and documentation Ability to pass pre-employment screening consistent with company policy Preferred (Nice to Have) Trailer experience (dry van, reefer, flatbed, chassis) Brake and electrical diagnostics experience Welding/fabrication experience CDL (not required) Schedule & Location Full-time position based out of Apopka, FL Local travel to customer sites; overtime may be available depending on workload
