Semi Trailer Mechanic

Florida Utility Trailers is looking for a skilled and dependable Semi-Trailer Mechanic to join our service team in Lakeland . This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining semi-trailers to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. We are seeking someone with strong mechanical ability, trailer repair experience, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair semi-trailers, including dry vans, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and dump trailers Perform repairs to brakes, suspension systems, wheel ends, lighting, air systems, doors, floors, roofs, and trailer structural components Complete preventative maintenance inspections and identify needed repairs Repair or replace trailer components such as panels, crossmembers, landing gear, mud flaps, seals, and rear frames Perform welding, fabrication, and minor structural repairs as needed Troubleshoot electrical and air system issues Ensure all repairs are completed safely, accurately, and in a timely manner Maintain clean and organized work areas Document work performed and communicate repair needs clearly with service staff and management Follow all company safety procedures and shop policies

Qualifications:

Experience in semi-trailer repair preferred Strong knowledge of trailer mechanical systems and general repair procedures Experience with brakes, suspension, electrical, lighting, and structural trailer repairs Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Ability to diagnose problems and work independently Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to lift, bend, stand, and work in a shop environment throughout the day Valid driver's license required
