Job Overview Join our dynamic team at Gary Yeomans Ford Lincoln as a Ford Certified Truck Technician, where your expertise in heavy-duty vehicle repair and maintenance will drive excellence on the road! In this energized role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of trucks and heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your mechanical skills, combined with your passion for heavy equipment and automotive systems, will keep our fleet running smoothly. Duties Conduct thorough diagnostics using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and computerized testing tools to identify issues with trucks and heavy equipment. Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and other mechanical systems. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify vehicle components as needed. Service and repair farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery to ensure operational efficiency. Complete vehicle inspections and alignments to meet safety standards; perform tire service including mounting, balancing, and rotation. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed; interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. Assist with equipment maintenance tasks such as welding, heavy lifting, soldering, and general assembly to support ongoing operations. Skills Proven (3) years of dealership experience with heavy truck repair or automotive diagnostics highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge across a variety of systems including diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques using welding equipment; familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting electrical or hydraulic systems. Skilled in heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers; capable of performing heavy lifting safely. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs. Ability to use power tools safely and efficiently; experience with vehicle assembly or equipment repair is a plus. Knowledge of heavy truck mechanics standards, including air brake systems, suspension alignment, and shocks & struts replacement. $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
