Job Description

Description:
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles, including trucks, vans, and specialized equipment. This role ensures that all vehicles are safe, operational, and compliant with regulatory standards. The Fleet Mechanic will perform routine maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical issues, and keep detailed records of all work performed.
Routine Maintenance:
Perform regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
Repairs:
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles, including engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and other critical components.
Inspections:
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential problems before they become serious issues. Ensure vehicles meet safety and emissions standards.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed. Document parts used, labor hours, and any additional notes related to the service.
Parts Management:
Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies needed for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Compliance:
Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed in accordance with company policies, manufacturer specifications, and local regulations.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service to drivers and fleet managers by communicating clearly about vehicle issues and repair timelines.
Safety:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Emergency Repairs:
Respond to emergency repair requests and provide on-site assistance when necessary.
Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in automotive technology preferred.
Experience:
Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with experience in fleet or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.
Certifications:
ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent is highly desirable, but not required.
Skills:
o Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. o Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and components. o Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. o Excellent with problem solving
