Automotive Service Advisor / Writer

Automotive Main Shop & Express Service Adviser Job Summary Service Advisers (SA or Service Writers) provide estimated cost analysis of automotive repairs and routine maintenance. Through effective communication with customers, the Service Adviser determines the services necessary, predicts the time needed for completion and stays in constant communication with the customer during the repair process. The service writer determines services needed by accessing information obtained by technicians and referencing auto manufacturer's service intervals Automotive Main Shop & Express Service Adviser Responsibilities and Duties Greet and consult customers on service needs Build strong customer relationships Perform a thorough vehicle walk-around inspection as part of the write-up Ability to effectively communicate with customers by recommending services recommended and performed in addition to keeping the customer updated on services Sell and up-sell services by emphasizing the value Follow-ups regarding unsold services and customer inquires Fields all live service calls Performs opening and closing responsibilities Takes ownership of the customer's experience by carrying out those additional assignments that allow the dealership to leave an impressionable and positive experience Know the product well enough to answer characteristic and operational questions regarding the customer's vehicle. Assists with the coordination of alternate transportation, rental car reservations, shuttle, etc. Performs other duties as requested Automotive Main Shop & Express Service Adviser Qualifications and Skills One year of service writer role experience strongly preferred Dealership experience preferred Must be computer proficient Excellent customer service skills Demonstrates extreme attention to detail Great professional communication skills Ability to multitask Ability to compute basic math equation High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Valid driving license Experience with
