Job Description

At Palm Beach Motors , we pride ourselves on providing high-quality, reliable pre-owned vehicles and dependable automotive service to the Lake Worth community. We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated Lead Mechanic to direct our shop operations, maintain our inventory, and ensure our customers drive away safe and satisfied. Position Overview As the Lead Mechanic, you will be the backbone of our service department. You will diagnose, overhaul, and maintain a wide variety of makes and models (Hondas, Toyotas, Hyundai, etc). We need a strong problem-solver who can handle complex diagnostic jobs, perform routine reconditioning on inventory vehicles, and lead junior techs or shop helpers by example.
Key Responsibilities Advanced Diagnostics & Repair:
Perform mechanical, and computer diagnostics to accurately pinpoint issue root causes.
Full-Service Repairs:
Perform brake replacements, suspension/steering work, engine/transmission diagnostics, A/C service, exhaust repair, and routine oil/filter changes.
Pre-Purchase & Inventory Inspections:
Conduct multi-point safety and mechanical inspections on incoming pre-owned inventory to get vehicles lot-ready.
Shop Leadership:
Mentor assistant mechanics, enforce safety standards, and maintain clean, organized service bays.
Quality Assurance:
Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure high-quality workmanship and safety compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on professional experience as an automotive tech/mechanic
Tools:
Must own a comprehensive set of professional hand and power tools.
Skills:
Strong diagnostic skills using modern shop scanners, OBD-II equipment, and diagnostic software.
Driver's License:
Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record (required for test drives).
Mindset:
Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced Florida environment.
Benefits & Schedule Schedule:
Full-time (Monday - Saturday availability).
Compensation:
