About Us At Palm Beach Motors , we provide dependable pre-owned vehicles and quality service to the Lake Worth community. We are looking for an ambitious, hardworking Junior Mechanic who wants to expand their skill set, work alongside an experienced lead tech, and grow their career in automotive repair. Position Overview As a Junior Mechanic, you will handle routine maintenance, basic light repairs, and pre-owned vehicle reconditioning. This is an ideal role for someone with early shop experience, automotive trade school training, or a strong mechanical background looking to step up under structured mentorship.
Key Responsibilities Routine Maintenance:
Perform oil changes, tire rotations, brake pad/rotor replacements, battery installations, and filter changes.
Basic Diagnostics & Inspections:
Conduct multi-point safety inspections, check fluid levels, scan for basic error codes, and report mechanical needs.
Inventory Prep:
Recondition incoming inventory to prepare pre-owned cars for sale.
Shop Assistance:
Keep service bays clean, organize tools, move vehicles around the lot, and assist the Lead Mechanic on complex jobs.
Road Testing:
Conduct basic test drives before and after service work to verify repairs.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
1-2 years of basic automotive repair experience or completion of an automotive trade program.
Tools:
Must have basic starter hand tools (sockets, wrenches, drivers).
Driver's License:
Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record (required).
Work Ethic:
Eager to learn, dependable, punctual, and comfortable taking direction in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Ability:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and spend extended periods on your feet.
Benefits & Growth Schedule:
Full-Time (Monday - Saturday availability).
Compensation:
$18.00 - $22.00 / hour starting rate.
