We primarily specialize in ceramic coatings and paint correction , with occasional full interior/exterior details depending on the job. This is a part-time, appointment-based position with approximately 15-25 hours per week to start. Most work will take place during daytime hours, generally between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM , depending on the scheduled appointments. What You'll Be Doing Exterior washes and vehicle preparation Chemical and mechanical decontamination Paint preparation Ceramic coating application Paint polishing and paint correction Interior detailing when included with scheduled jobs Final vehicle inspections and quality control Taking basic before/after photos when needed Maintaining and organizing equipment and supplies Experience Previous professional or personal auto detailing experience is required . You do not need to already be an expert in ceramic coatings or paint correction. We are willing to train the right person on our specific products, processes, and techniques. However, applicants who already have experience with: Ceramic coatings Dual-action polishers Paint correction Compounding and polishing Paint inspection and defect removal will be considered for higher starting pay based on demonstrated experience and ability . Equipment & Transportation Once fully trained and approved to work independently: A Platinum Details work truck will be provided for scheduled jobs All detailing equipment, chemicals, ceramic coatings, towels, machines, pads, and supplies will be provided Client information, appointment details, job scope, and routes will be provided You will not be expected to purchase your own professional detailing equipment or products A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required because the position will eventually involve driving a company vehicle to customer appointments. Training & Hiring Process We take quality seriously, so applicants will go through a multi-stage hiring and training process. Stage 1 — Phone Interview Selected applicants will complete a short phone interview where we discuss detailing experience, work history, availability, reliability, and the position. Stage 2 — Working Evaluation / Ride-Along Applicants who move forward will be invited to work alongside the owner during an actual detailing appointment. This gives us an opportunity to evaluate your current detailing ability, attention to detail, work ethic, attitude, ability to follow instructions, and how you work around customer vehicles. It also gives you an opportunity to see exactly how Platinum Details operates. Stage 3 — Paid Training Candidates selected after the working evaluation will begin paid hands-on training . Training may include several ride-along appointments depending on your existing experience and ability. Some technicians may be ready to work independently relatively quickly, while others may require additional training. You will only begin completing customer vehicles independently once we are confident that you can consistently perform the work to Platinum Details standards. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Reliable and punctual Experienced with basic vehicle detailing Comfortable working independently after training Extremely detail-oriented Willing to learn our specific processes Comfortable receiving feedback and instruction Physically capable of performing detailing work outdoors Respectful of customer vehicles and property Able to maintain a professional appearance and attitude Someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work We care more about reliability, attention to detail, work ethic, and willingness to learn than having the longest résumé. Pay $20-$25 per hour , depending on experience and demonstrated ability. Applicants with proven ceramic coating and paint correction experience may qualify for the higher end of the pay range. This position has the potential for additional hours and responsibility as Platinum Details continues to grow.
