Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Auto Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles. Pay will be flat rate. Experience with motorcycles and powersports is preferred, but not required. Duties of mechanic will be to service customer vehicles along with on-site dealership vehicles. The business is in a prime location and high traffic area just off of US-19/Commercial Way in Spring Hill. Looking for a reliable mechanic that is open to growing with the business, and who will be financially rewarded for patience and dedication. We would prefer a local person and are open to merging your current customer base with ours. Workplace environment will be easy going, but customer service and a timely turn around will still be a main focus. You will be responsible for troubleshooting. The skills needed are to be proficient at engine replacement, transmission repair and replacement, head gasket, as well as basic diagnosis, maintenance, and repair. An excellent auto mechanic has good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex mechanical and electronic systems of vehicles, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. Perks of the job will include access to auto lift after hours for own projects. Plenty of room for growth as business is growing the customer base every day. We are a small dealership who services our own vehicles and customer vehicles as well. We are partnered with a powersports store. Having powersports knowledge puts you at the front of the line. Responsibilities Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks) Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job Keep logs on work and issues Maintain equipment and tools in good condition Skills Proven experience as auto mechanic Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift) Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc. Excellent physical condition High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus
