About the Role We're hiring a Heavy-Duty Truck Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems on heavy-duty waste vehicles, ensuring DOT compliance and operational safety. $26.00- $28.00 per hour DOEWhat You'll DoPerform preventative maintenance: oil changes, fluid checks, lubrication, tire rotations, and brake adjustmentsUse diagnostic software and electronic systems to interpret failure codes and troubleshoot diesel enginesRepair and rebuild hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, transmissions, steering, suspension, and enginesMaintain and adjust hydraulic and pneumatic components (cylinders, hoses, pumps, motors), particularly on packer bodiesRespond to roadside emergency calls to diagnose and repair equipment on-siteReview and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs); conduct safety checks on heavy equipmentComplete reports, work orders, and parts orders; maintain detailed records of work performedEnsure all vehicles meet DOT and OSHA safety standardsOrder and manage parts inventory as neededWhat You BringMinimum 3 years of experience in heavy-duty truck maintenanceCDL Class B requiredClean driving record; ability to pass background and drug screeningExtensive knowledge of hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and hosesProficiency with diesel engine diagnostic software and troubleshooting electrical systemsKnowledge of DOT and OSHA regulationsExperience performing scheduled services (oil changes, brake inspections, suspension repairs)Ability to lift heavy objects (often 50+ lbs), bend, kneel, and stand for extended periodsPreferred QualificationsASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certifications (T-Series) preferred
