Flat Rate Pay (Based on Experience & Skill Level) About the Position We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Lead Automotive Technician to join our growing independent used car dealership. Our in-house shop services a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles, giving our technicians the opportunity to work on all makes and models. We're looking for a technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, can accurately diagnose vehicle issues, and is comfortable performing everything from routine maintenance to major engine and drivetrain repairs. A-Level Technician experience is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns. Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, fluid services, brakes, suspension, and steering repairs. Complete engine, transmission, cooling system, and drivetrain repairs. Perform timing components, head gasket, engine replacement, and other major mechanical repairs as needed. Inspect incoming inventory and identify mechanical and safety concerns. Recommend needed repairs to prepare vehicles for retail sale. Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate findings with management. Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Meet flat-rate productivity goals while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Assist with technical guidance and troubleshooting when needed to help maintain shop efficiency. Qualifications Required Proven professional automotive repair experience. Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Preferred A-Level Technician experience. ASE Certifications. Experience with engine and transmission replacement. Experience using diagnostic scan tools and service information systems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Shop & Equipment Fully equipped shop with a two-post vehicle lift. Fully stocked professional tool cabinet available for use. Technicians are welcome to bring and use their own tools if preferred. Steady workflow servicing a variety of domestic and import vehicles.
