South Erwin St, Cartersville, GA Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8AM-6PM Company Summary Garrett's Automotive is built on a simple belief: do the right thing. We provide honest, high-quality automotive repair by diagnosing problems accurately and fixing only what's needed—never upselling unnecessary services. Our vision is to grow into a trusted, nationwide brand known for raising the standard of integrity in the automotive industry. If you're a technician who takes pride in doing things right the first time and wants to work in a shop that values your expertise and integrity, this is the place. Job Summary The Automotive Technician at Garrett's is a hands-on, skilled professional responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer vehicles to the highest standard. You will work on domestic and Asian vehicles, perform complex diagnostics, and handle everything from light-line maintenance to advanced drivability and electrical repairs. This role demands accuracy, technical mastery, and a commitment to doing the job right—every single time. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Receive dispatched repair orders from the Service Advisor and perform thorough vehicle diagnostics. Accurately document all findings on the repair order for the Service Advisor to build the customer estimate.
Perform light-line repairs:
brakes, steering, suspension, oil changes, and routine maintenance. Diagnose and repair drivability issues, including check engine lights and emissions-related faults. Perform A/C and electrical diagnostics and repairs. Work on domestic and Asian vehicle platforms across a wide range of makes and models. Use diagnostic scan tools and specialty equipment to isolate and resolve issues accurately. Collaborate with the Service Advisor to ensure estimates are accurate and parts are ordered correctly. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly care for all tools and equipment. Complete jobs efficiently to support shop throughput targets while maintaining quality standards. What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months) Consistently diagnosing vehicles accurately on the first attempt—no comebacks. Efficiently managing flat-rate hours, hitting or exceeding target productivity levels. Demonstrating strong skills across all assigned work categories (light-line, diagnostic, electrical, A/C). Building trust with ownership and the Service Advisor through reliable, accurate work. Upholding Garrett's values—no shortcuts, no unnecessary repairs, full integrity in every job. Requirements 5+ years of hands-on automotive repair experience. ASE certification. Experience with domestic and Asian vehicle brands. Proficiency in A/C diagnosis and repair. Strong electrical and drivability diagnostic skills.
Light-line competency:
brakes, steering and suspension. Own tools required; own diagnostic scan tools are a significant plus. High level of integrity, accuracy, and professional pride. Ability to work at a productive flat-rate pace in a team-oriented environment. Why This Role Is Different This is not a high-volume, cut-corners shop. At Garrett's Automotive, technicians are trusted professionals— not just wrenches. You will be given accurate repair orders, properly sourced parts, and the support of an engaged Service Advisor. The focus is on getting it right the first time. If you're tired of shops that sacrifice quality for volume, this is the environment you've been looking for.
