Location Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. Job Summary Performs car, truck and automotive vehicle maintenance on campus vehicles. Responsible for scheduling and performing general overhaul and minor mechanical and electrical repairs. Performs general, preventative and supportive maintenance tasks including detection and correction of mechanical failures. Follows established shop safety policies and procedures and other regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs light repair work (i.e. oil changes, tire rotations, brake services and inspections) 2. Assists other technicians and/or other staff members on emergency and corrective maintenance 3. Coordinates and assists in the repair and service of vehicles and diesel powered automotive equipment and small engines 4. Establishes priorities, schedules and assigns work 5. Maintains clean and safe work environment adhering to ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) standards 6. Inspects, adjusts or replaces defective parts 7. Diagnoses, disassembles, rebuilds or repairs two (2) and four (4) cycle engine equipment 8. Performs preventative maintenance on backup generators Required Qualifications Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Other Required Qualifications Current, valid and unrestricted Georgia driver's license Required Experience Three (3) years related experience Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate or Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field Operate heavy machinery and electrical equipment Operate and work in extreme temperatures and heights including aerial lifts and ladders Proposed Salary The budgeted salary range is $23.16 to $24.04 per hour. KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of tools, equipment and procedures used in general overhaul, repair and maintenance of automotive equipment and small engines Knowledge of principles of internal combustion engines and gasoline and diesel engines Knowledge of basic technologies involved in electrical, hydraulics and fuel systems Knowledge of appropriate health and safety standards and regulations Knowledge computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite) Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision and training Knowledge of proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies SKILLS Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, technology, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management and project management skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite) Strong attention to detail and follow up skills Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette USG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 25 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
