Job Description
Hawaii Farm Project — Makawao, HI Full-Time | Competitive Pay + Benefits Hawaii Farm Project is seeking a skilled, dependable, and hands-on Property Maintenance / Automotive & Equipment Technician to join our growing maintenance team in Upcountry Maui. This is a diverse, year-round position ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of work—from maintaining our fleet of tour vehicles and agricultural equipment to keeping our farm property, buildings, and visitor facilities in excellent condition. What You'll Do Property Maintenance (Approximately 50%) Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm buildings, offices, visitor facilities, barns, fencing, gates, and other structures. Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general handyman repairs. Maintain walkways, parking areas, lighting, signage, irrigation systems, and other property infrastructure. Perform preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, and facility systems. Assist with property improvement projects, installations, and seasonal maintenance tasks. Help maintain clean, safe, and professional grounds, facilities, and work areas. Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize repairs to minimize operational disruptions. Automotive & Equipment Maintenance (Approximately 50%) Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on company tour vehicles, employee transport vehicles, tractors, utility vehicles, and agricultural equipment. Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engines, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Conduct inspections, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and complete repairs to keep fleet and equipment operating safely. Respond to field service calls and urgent equipment breakdowns. Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection documentation. Assist with parts inventory, ordering, and shop organization. Work closely with operations teams to minimize equipment downtime and support daily farm and tour activities. What We're Looking For Preferably a minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive, diesel, equipment, property, or facilities maintenance. Experience performing general building maintenance and repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Experience servicing gasoline and diesel vehicles, tractors, utility vehicles, or heavy equipment. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt to changing daily tasks. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding work. Valid driver's license required. Must provide your own basic hand tools; company provides specialty and heavy equipment tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience maintaining agricultural, commercial, or hospitality properties. Experience working on tractors, farm equipment, heavy machinery, or commercial fleets. ASE certifications. Welding and fabrication experience. Basic electrical or plumbing trade experience. CDL license. Familiarity with DOT regulations and fleet safety standards. Technical, vocational, or trade school training.
