As a Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and support equipment used in asphalt paving and construction operations throughout Iowa and Nebraska. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and support vehicles. Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic, electrical, and air systems. Complete inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before failures occur. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic equipment. Perform emergency repairs to minimize equipment downtime. Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders. Ensure all repairs meet DOT regulations and company safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Communicate repair needs and equipment status with supervisors and drivers. Assist with other fleet maintenance projects as needed. Requirements Experience as a diesel or heavy truck mechanic. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and heavy-duty truck maintenance. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical failures efficiently. Experience using diagnostic software and repair tools. Ability to read service manuals and repair schematics. Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain one. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in shop and field environments. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening Must possess your own tools.
