  • Kuna, Idaho KC's Mobile Repair is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician to join our growing shop.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable handling major mechanical repairs independently and has enough diagnostic ability to accurately work through common vehicle concerns. You do not need to be a master diagnostician—we have that covered—but you do need to understand how vehicles work and be able to diagnose beyond simply reading a trouble code. What You'll Be Doing This position will primarily handle shop repairs and general diagnostics, including: Engine and major component replacement Timing chains, timing belts, and related repairs Cooling system repairs Steering and suspension Brakes Starting and charging systems Tune-ups and maintenance Fluid leaks HVAC repairs Light electrical repair Check-engine-light and drivability diagnostics Basic electrical testing with a DVOM Using scan data and service information to diagnose common problems Performing inspections and identifying needed repairs Test driving vehicles before and after repairs More difficult electrical, network, intermittent, and advanced diagnostic problems can be handed off when necessary. What We're Looking For We need someone who can be given a repair order and get the job done correctly without constant supervision .
A good candidate should:
Have professional automotive repair experience Be comfortable with major mechanical repairs Understand basic diagnostic procedures Know how to use a scan tool and DVOM Be able to read wiring diagrams and service information Understand that a trouble code is a starting point—not a diagnosis Have their own basic hand tools Keep their work area reasonably clean and organized Perform quality work and double-check repairs Communicate when something doesn't look right instead of guessing Be willing to ask for help when a problem exceeds their experience Have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record ASE certifications are a plus, but actual ability and willingness to learn matter more to us than certificates.
