Position Summary Hitch N Go Trailer Sales and Rentals is seeking a dependable and motivated Trailer Technician / Yard Associate to join our team. This hands-on position is responsible for trailer assembly, inspections, minor repairs, property maintenance, and general yard operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This role plays an important part in ensuring our trailers, equipment, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards while delivering exceptional service to our customers. Key Responsibilities Unload, assemble, and prepare trailers for sale, rental, and customer delivery. Perform detailed inspections of trailers to identify damage, defects, or maintenance needs. Complete minor trailer repairs and routine maintenance tasks. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or operational issues. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the yard, shop, and surrounding property. Safely operate forklifts and other equipment used in daily operations. Utilize hand tools and power tools to complete assembly, repair, and maintenance tasks. Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management regarding repairs, maintenance requirements, and operational needs. Assist with loading, unloading, and moving trailers within the yard. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Support other departments and perform additional duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Experience unloading, assembling, and preparing trailers for operational use preferred. Ability to inspect trailers for damage, defects, and maintenance concerns. Capable of performing minor repairs and routine maintenance. General knowledge of trailers, trailer components, and trailer maintenance practices. Experience operating forklifts and using hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate equipment and tools required for the position.
