Full Job Description Description:
The Role Blue Peak Tents is hiring a Fleet Equipment Technician (FET) to be the go-to technical authority for our event equipment — HVAC, generators, restroom trailers, lighting, flooring, and climate control. This is a hands-on, build-it role: you'll maintain fleet readiness, develop field-ready SOPs, and serve as the primary Saturday point of contact for technical issues. Early on, you'll spend ~50% of your time in the field learning the business firsthand. Over time, the focus shifts to building systems, training others, and reducing reactive calls on senior leadership. Compensation & Benefits $30.00-$38.00/hr depending on experience and qualifications CDL Class A upgrade sponsorship (paid by Blue Peak — a real retention investment) Off-season training & certification: HVAC, power systems, industry courses Overtime available during peak season (May-October) Full-time, year-round employment with consistent hours Growth path into technical team leadership as the operation scales Why Blue Peak Blue Peak Tents serves high-profile clients across the Midwest and nationally. We're investing in a best-in-class fleet operation — and this role is central to that vision. You won't be maintaining someone else's system; you'll be building one from the ground up. For the right person, this role has a clear growth trajectory into technical team leadership. If you take pride in making things work, building systems that outlast you, and being the person others rely on when it matters most — this is your role. What You'll Do Equipment Maintenance & Fleet Readiness Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HVAC units, generators, restroom trailers, lighting rigs, flooring, and tent heaters Own the restroom trailer program end-to-end: prep, testing, troubleshooting, and post-event inspection Conduct pre-deployment inspections with documented checklists Diagnose and resolve equipment issues on-site when mission-critical Process Development & Training Create dummy-proof labeling and laminated field guides for equipment self-service Develop SOPs and inspection checklists that travel with each piece of equipment Train and mentor runners on restroom trailer setup, operation, and troubleshooting Build a library of training materials (written, visual, video) for off-season cycles Weekend & Field Support Serve as the primary Saturday triage contact — resolve field issues by phone or in person Half-day on-call from home on lighter Saturdays; immediate availability if needed Escalate through the chain when issues exceed your scopeRequirements:

Work is performed indoors (warehouse) and outdoors (field sites) in all weather. Steel-toe footwear required. Comfort at heights and on uneven terrain is necessary.Similar jobs in Batavia, IL
