Job Mission As a Mechanical Engineer in our Product Development team, you'll utilize your mechanical aptitude to spearhead the creation of innovative high performance vehicle components, spanning from intake filter to exhaust tips, and everything in between. Beginning with a detailed product charter, you'll use CAD to craft parts and assemblies, ensuring alignment with project goals through rapid prototyping and simulations. Collaborating with vendors, you'll oversee sample and production runs, while optimizing manufacturing processes with our fabrication team. Your role extends beyond production, encompassing ongoing support through design enhancements, vendor management, and cost-saving initiatives, driving projects from inception to fruition.

Primary Responsibilities Design:

Create 3D parts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings in Solidworks. Optimize designs for various manufacturing methods.

Project Management:

Manage multiple projects, adhere to timelines, document progress, oversee budget, and handle vendor communication.

Quality:

Develop inspection drawings, implement QC training, manage design validation, and perform root cause analysis.

Testing and Validation:

Utilize simulation software, conduct hands-on validation, and execute testing procedures. Required Experience The ideal candidate is self-driven, hardworking, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, able to efficiently ensure thorough product development. They excel as team players in dynamic environments, with effective communication skills to meet project goals. While automotive performance industry experience is advantageous, hands-on experience and engine/powertrain comprehension are preferred but not mandatory. Minimum of 5 years design engineering experience with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field, or equivalent. Proficiency in CAD modeling (Solidworks software a plus) and experience with DFM, GD&T, and precision measuring tools/techniques. Strong understanding of, or experience with, the full product development lifecycle. Hands-on experience with machining, fabrication, and welding is advantageous, along with a strong understanding of various common manufacturing processes. (casting, machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, etc.) Capability to perform mechanical work on cars (i.e., build, install, and test fit parts), along with an understanding of automotive mechanical systems. Formula SAE experience is a major plus
