Carol Stream, IL Job Description This position is for a Machine Mechanic within a rebuilding and job shop, custom machine building environment. Employees will start by evaluating machines, breaking them down, determining root causes, problem-solving, and repairing and rebuilding equipment. Responsibilities Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repair of used packaging machines. Identify root causes of issues and implement repairs to ensure machines operate productively. Utilize hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers. Work with power tools such as power drills and impacts. Read and interpret tape measures when necessary. Assist with fabrication and production tasks. Lift up to 50 pounds. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, machine builder, or custom automotive mechanic/fabricator. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Ability to troubleshoot and assemble machines. Understanding of mechanical repair, hydraulics, electrical systems, machine building, schematics, and preventive maintenance. Experience with pneumatics, blueprint reading, welding, machine and electrical assembly, maintenance technician tasks, wiring, and installation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carol Stream, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
