Automotive Technician 1006 West Oak Street, Fairbury, IL 61739 $25

  • Full-time Responsibilities:
    We are not looking for a lube technician. Job duties might include changing oil, but this position requires diagnostic and repair experience. Preferred General Motors training and experience. Pay is hourly, not flat rate.
  • Perform automotive repairs and maintenance tasks according to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify any additional repair or maintenance needs.
  • Complete necessary repairs, replacements, or adjustments to ensure the safe and efficient operation of vehicles.
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and explaining repair recommendations.
Experience:
  • Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or similar role. Preferred General Motors experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain, and automotive service and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with schematics, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and vehicle maintenance procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify vehicle problems.
  • Experience with auto estimating and aligning vehicles is a plus.
  • Certification from an accredited automotive technology program is preferred. We offer competitive pay based on experience, as well as the following benefits:
