Job Title:
Service Technician Job Description The Service Technician specializes in working on various rental equipment, delivering, picking up, setting up, tearing down, and performing maintenance and repairs on all equipment. Initially, you will work locally, and after training, there may be minimal travel across the US to service equipment. Responsibilities Prepare, inspect, and operate equipment prior to delivery. Remove, disassemble, assemble, and install components and parts. Determine and order necessary parts, materials, and supplies for repairs, maintenance, or modifications. Perform preventative maintenance tasks and service equipment sold and/or owned. Deliver and pick up equipment at correct addresses, set up/tear down equipment on job sites, and obtain necessary signatures and proof of receipt. Assist customers with loading equipment and restock returned products. Inspect returned products to ensure they are clean, in good repair, and properly maintained. Identify, tag, and address products that need repair, cleaning, or modification. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of facilities and company vehicles. Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Efficiently complete paperwork and maintain accurate records of hours worked, accounts serviced, and administrative time. Essential Skills Troubleshooting and repair skills Proficiency with hand and power tools Knowledge of electrical wiring and automotive repair Mechanical aptitude and experience with carpentry Experience with hydraulic, diesel repair, 3-phase systems, mechanical systems Additional Skills & Qualifications Diesel troubleshooting and repair is a major advantage Ability to operate materials handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, skid steerers, and forklifts safely Ability to read repair manuals and schematic diagrams Self-motivated and self-directed ability Capacity to work well with minimal supervision At least one year of experience replacing/troubleshooting hydraulic systems Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is a first shift position from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with potential for 5-10 hours of overtime depending on workload. The company operates from a large property with three buildings, including offices, a warehouse, and a shop. The dress code requires steel-toe boots, long pants, and a work shirt. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnsburg, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
