  • Full-time Who We Are AutoMedic Plus is a full-service automotive repair shop in Hodgkins, IL, with a particular love for German engineering — Audi is our owner's passion, and we have deep expertise across BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche.
We also service fleet vehicles like Sprinters and small box trucks, plus all domestic and foreign makes. After 10+ years in business, we've built a loyal and growing clientele, which means steady, guaranteed work in a shop that's always moving. Who We're Looking For We want a technician who genuinely enjoys the puzzle of diagnostics — someone who isn't satisfied with "the scan tool said replace X" as the final answer, but wants to understand the underlying system well enough to confirm it. If you're the type who reads service bulletins for fun, asks "but why did it fail" after every repair, and wants to keep sharpening your diagnostic skills on increasingly complex European electronics and systems, you'll fit right in here. Why Work With Us Clean, organized, well-equipped shop Guaranteed work thanks to a steady, expanding client base Pay based on experience, with merit increases and an annual bonus Exposure to a wide range of makes — German specialty work, fleet vehicles, and everything in between — so your diagnostic skills keep growing A shop that values getting it right , not just getting it done What You'll Do Diagnose using scan tools as a starting point, then follow through with deeper hands-on diagnostics to pinpoint root cause Perform repairs across transmissions, timing belts/chains, engines, suspension, steering, brakes, cooling systems, and AC/heat Complete thorough inspections — engine components, suspension, and beyond Handle routine maintenance: oil changes, fluid services (transmission, differential, transfer case) Mount/dismount tires, balance wheels, rotate tires, and perform alignments Communicate clearly with the shop manager on findings and repair plans Bring your own tools (uniforms and specialty tools provided by the shop) What We're Looking For 2+ years of experience as a technician (foreign car experience preferred) Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting instincts — comfortable with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems A self-starter mentality: when something doesn't add up, you dig until it does Genuine curiosity and a "learn something new every day" mindset Schedule Full-time, Monday-Friday, 10-hour shifts Benefits Enjoy stable hours without worrying about slow seasons. Friendly, supportive team that works together—not against each other Holiday pay & bonuses throughout the year Employee discount on personal vehicle parts
