Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Customer Pay Automotive Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on customer vehicles. This role focuses exclusively on customer cars, including inspections, service work, and complex repairs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on customer-pay vehicles, including brakes, suspension, engine, electrical, A/C, and driveline components. Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, and fluid flushes. Accurately assess repair needs and communicate findings to service advisors. Complete work according to dealership or shop standards, within quoted timeframes. Test drive vehicles as needed to verify complaints and confirm repairs. Use diagnostic equipment, tools, and technical resources effectively. Document all work performed, including parts used and labor time. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to all safety procedures.
Requirements:
Experience:
2-5 years of hands-on experience as an automotive mechanic or technician.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
Certifications:
ASE certifications highly desirable or willingness to obtain
Skills:
Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Familiarity with various vehicle makes and models Good time management and attention to detail Basic computer skills for documentation and repair software
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a dealership, independent shop, or high-volume service center Customer-focused mindset and professionalism
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
