Job Summary Whiteford Kenworth is seeking a skilled Trailer Technician/Fabricator to perform repairs, modifications, and custom fabrication on a variety of commercial trailers. This position is responsible for diagnosing structural issues, welding and fabricating components, repairing trailer systems, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance. The ideal candidate will have experience with welding, metal fabrication, trailer repair, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Perform trailer repairs, modifications, and fabrication work on box trailers, flatbeds, dump trailers, tankers, reefers, and other trailer equipment Diagnose and repair structural trailer damage, including frame, crossmember, landing gear, suspension, floor, roof, sidewall, and door assemblies Fabricate, weld, cut, bend, and install steel, aluminum, and other materials as required Operate welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently Install and repair trailer components including lighting, air systems, brake systems, suspension components, and accessories Read and interpret repair orders, fabrication drawings, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines Perform measurements and layout work to ensure proper fitment and alignment of fabricated components Identify additional repairs or safety concerns and communicate findings to management Perform work efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards Maintain required certifications, training, and safety compliance Keep work area clean and organized Other duties or tasks as assigned Physical Requirements Required Constantly Performed Actions Manual dexterity: use of hands to handle, feel, assemble, weld, fabricate, grip, and manipulate tools, materials, and equipment; reach with arms and hands and work overhead for extended periods Repetitive climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching/squatting, crawling, walking, sitting, standing, bending/twisting, neck and shoulder movements, talking, listening, and working in awkward positions and confined spaces for extended periods Frequent use of welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, and fabrication equipment Frequent climbing on trailers, ladders, platforms, and work stands Lift and move up to 100 lbs. Push and pull up to 100 lbs.
