We are committed to delivering the highest standards of quality and service in the industry. We are currently seeking a dependable, safety-focused mechanic to join our team at our Westville, IN or Valparaiso, IN location.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repair:
Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on mixer trucks, heavy construction equipment, and mobile units.Diagnostics:
Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical defects.Component Service:
Remove and replace parts, including injection, starters, water pumps, radiators, and brakes.Inspections:
Conduct routine brake adjustments and inspections following Federal DOT requirements.Documentation:
Create accurate, legible work orders and document all services performed.Coordination:
Review pre-trip inspections with supervisors and communicate maintenance policies to drivers and plant managers.Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to OSHA and company safety rules, wearing all required PPE and maintaining a safe shop environment.Requirements:
- Proven background as a Heavy Diesel or Mixer Truck Mechanic within a similar industry
- Possession of personal tools up to 1 inch.
- A clean driving record is required; a CDL is preferred but not mandatory.
- High school diploma is preferred; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.
- Ability to walk, climb, push, and pull to a significant degree in outdoor conditions and extreme temperatures.
- Proficiency in failure analysis and the use of specialized shop equipment.
