Shawnee Mission Ford is looking for a Used Car Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition pre-owned vehicles to meet our high standards before they reach our customers. This position plays a critical role in ensuring every used vehicle is safe, reliable, and ready for sale. You'll perform mechanical repairs, maintenance, inspections, and reconditioning while working alongside a team committed to delivering exceptional vehicles and customer satisfaction. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, and drivability concerns. Complete manufacturer-recommended maintenance and reconditioning services. Perform safety inspections to ensure vehicles meet dealership standards. Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation. Maintain efficiency while producing high-quality repairs. Document inspections, repair recommendations, and completed work accurately. Use diagnostic equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely and effectively. Work closely with management to prioritize vehicle readiness and inventory turn. Used Car Technician Requirements Previous automotive technician experience required. Ford dealership experience is a plus. Ford certification is a plus. ASE certifications are preferred. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures. Ability to learn new technology and manufacturer repair procedures. Comfortable using electronic diagnostic equipment and repair software. High school diploma or GED required. Technical or automotive training preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the workday. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment.
