Automotive Technician - Transmissions

Certified Transmission is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician who wants a leadership role—not just another tech job. This senior-level position is for a proven professional trusted to diagnose complex issues, verify repair quality, and set the technical standard for the shop. As a Automotive Technician , you will handle advanced diagnostics, determine root causes, communicate repair plans with Service Advisors and Managers, and complete final road tests and quality checks. You'll also serve as the technical leader in the shop—supporting R&R Technicians, mentoring newer team members, helping guide workflow, and ensuring repairs meet Certified Transmission's quality standards. Responsibilities of the Automotive Technician Perform advanced diagnostics using road tests, computer scans, and thorough inspections Identify root causes of customer concerns and recommend proper repairs Communicate diagnoses clearly to Service Advisors and Managers Complete final road tests and quality checks on all vehicles Conduct 15-day re-checks and make necessary adjustments Oversee daily workflow and shop activities Ensure all repairs meet company quality standards Provide technical support and guidance to R&R Technicians Assist with training and mentoring new technicians Help assign work and recommend additional training Order parts and track inventory Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance logs Request new tools or equipment as needed Assist with shop operations during short manager absences Certified Transmission offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including: Annual salary range of $80,000-$150,000 Medical, dental, and vision insurance Vacation pay, sick pay, unpaid time off options 401(k) retirement plan w/ company match
