Job Description

We are seeking a Auto Mechanic to join an automotive repair shop serving a loyal base of local customers. We are looking for a skilled Auto Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles, ensuring safe and reliable performance for our customers. This position plays an important role in our day-to-day operations, and we are looking for someone who combines technical skill with a strong work ethic, sound judgment, and genuine care for the quality of their work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment and visual inspection.
  • Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, brake repairs, and tire rotations.
  • Repair or replace faulty engine components, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
  • Test drive vehicles to confirm successful repairs and identify any remaining issues.
  • Provide accurate cost and time estimates for repairs to customers.
  • Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts used.
  • Keep up to date with new vehicle technologies and repair techniques.
  • Ensure the repair shop maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Communicate clearly with customers about vehicle issues and recommended services.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Completion of automotive technician training program; ASE certification preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, scanners, and standard automotive equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs.
  • Good communication skills for explaining technical issues to customers.
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity for hands-on repair work.
Work Environment:
You will work in a busy repair shop, handling a variety of vehicle makes and models throughout the day. The role requires both technical expertise and clear communication skills, as you'll regularly explain repair needs and costs directly to customers. Successful candidates will be comfortable adapting to a dynamic day-to-day routine, working both independently and as part of a coordinated team, and maintaining a professional, solutions-oriented attitude even when circumstances change unexpectedly.
