Today, our team has grown to nearly 70 employees, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us as our next Mechanic Helper / Fleet Maintenance Assistant. No two days are exactly the same, and you'll work alongside our Fleet Manager helping maintain the vehicles that keep our entire company moving. What You'll Be Doing As our Mechanic Helper, you'll assist the Fleet Manager with maintaining and repairing our growing fleet of service vehicles.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with oil changes and preventative maintenance Helping perform brake jobs and suspension repairs Tire rotations, balancing, and replacements Battery replacements and charging system diagnostics Vehicle inspections and maintenance documentation Cleaning and organizing the shop Maintaining inventory of fluids, filters, and repair parts Coordinating vehicle scheduling with technicians and department managers Picking up parts and supplies when needed Helping prepare new fleet vehicles for service Assisting with troubleshooting mechanical issues Ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable, and ready for daily service This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working on vehicles and wants to continue learning from an experienced Fleet Manager. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Mechanically inclined Reliable and dependable Organized and detail-oriented Able to lift 50+ pounds Comfortable using hand and power tools Able to work both independently and as part of a team Has a valid driver's license with a good driving record Bonus points if you have experience with: Automotive maintenance Fleet maintenance Diesel or gas engines Small engine repair Welding or fabrication ASE certifications (not required) Why Work at LaJaunie's?
