The Automotive Mechanic I will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions. This position is located in Deaborn, MI.As an Automotive Mechanic I, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspectionsRepairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and componentsReading, interpreting, and following service proceduresMaintaining vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair ordersKeeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairsParticipating in daily shop organization and clean-upsTo be considered as an Automotive Mechanic I, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalentNo previous experience requiredMechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipmentGood attention to detail and organizational skillsAble to work independently and as part of a teamHas own tools with rolling toolboxAbility to read, comprehend, and execute written proceduresA successful candidate may also have:
Certificate in Automotive Technology or relatedNational Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)State Mechanic Certification(s)Valid driver's licenseKnowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancersAbility to work overtime as needed including weekendsOur full-time benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, paid holidays, and more.
