Earning Potential:
$135,000+ annually Position Summary We are hiring an experienced A Level or B+ Level Automotive Technician with Michigan State Certifications for a well-established, family-owned repair shop in Shelby Township, MI . This is a Monday-Friday opportunity with a hybrid pay plan (base + flat rate, paid whichever is higher), strong car count, and a tight-knit, no-drama team environment. What We're Looking For For B-Level Technicians:
3+ years of hands-on automotive repair experience Strong skills in brakes, steering, suspension, and general repair Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Michigan State Certifications For A-Level Technicians:
5+ years of automotive technician experience Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting ability Ability to diagnose complex drivability and electrical issues Michigan State Certifications required
For All Candidates:
ASE certifications preferred Valid driver's license with clean driving record Must pass background check and drug screen Professional attitude — no politics, no drama, no ego Team-first mentality and strong work ethic What You'll Do Perform diagnostics and repairs on domestic and Asian vehicles (light Euro exposure) Handle brake, steering, suspension, engine, and drivability repairs Use Autel and Snap-On diagnostic scan tools Complete digital vehicle inspections (DVI) using AutoLeap Accurately flag and bill 40+ hours per week Communicate clearly with service advisors regarding needed repairs Maintain a clean, professional, and organized work area Compensation & Pay Plan Hybrid Pay Structure (Weekly Pay): Guaranteed weekly base (
A Tech:
$1,000 |
B Tech:
$800) Flat rate equivalent of $25
  • 65/hr depending on experience Paid whichever is higher: base or production Monthly productivity bonus plan Monthly SPIFF programs Top technicians earning $135K+ Current techs are turning 30-40 hours weekly, with opportunity for more.
