Job Description
Job Summary RCI | Richter Construction, Inc. is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Fleet, Equipment & Logistics Manager / Mechanic. This is a hands-on, diverse position responsible for keeping RCI's vehicles, trailers, tools, equipment, warehouse, and jobsite logistics organized and operational. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys working on vehicles and equipment, solving problems, staying organized, and performing a variety of tasks from day to day. Primary Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on company trucks, vehicles, trailers, and construction equipment. Perform minor vehicle body work, rust repair, cosmetic repairs, and related maintenance. Maintain and repair construction tools, small engines, generators, compressors, and other equipment. Manage and organize the company warehouse, shop, yard, tools, equipment, and supplies. Maintain an inventory of company tools and equipment and help ensure they are accounted for and in good working condition. Prepare, load, deliver, and retrieve tools, equipment, and trailers from construction projects. Move construction and equipment trailers between the warehouse and jobsites. Pick up and deliver construction materials, supplies, parts, and equipment. Assist with project mobilization and demobilization. Coordinate major vehicle or equipment repairs with outside repair facilities when necessary. Maintain vehicles, trailers, and equipment in a clean, safe, and professional condition. Perform minor welding, fabrication, and equipment repairs when within the employee's capabilities. Perform snow and ice removal at the RCI office, warehouse, yard, and active construction projects during the winter. Operate company plow trucks and snow-removal equipment. Occasionally work in the field alongside RCI construction crews when additional manpower is needed. Perform miscellaneous maintenance, transportation, construction, and operational tasks as needed to support the company. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience working on trucks, vehicles, trailers, or construction equipment. General knowledge of automotive and equipment maintenance. Experience with construction tools and equipment. Ability to work independently and identify problems before they result in equipment downtime. Strong organizational skills. Ability to safely tow and maneuver trailers. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Experience with welding, fabrication, body work, or small-engine repair is a plus. Construction experience is preferred but not required. Snowplowing experience is preferred. We are looking for someone who is dependable, resourceful, organized, and willing to do a wide variety of work. This is not a desk-management position. The successful candidate will personally perform repairs, maintenance, deliveries, equipment moves, warehouse work, snow removal, and occasional construction work. Schedule Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM 30-minute unpaid lunch Winter snow events, emergency repairs, or occasional project needs may require work outside of normal business hours. Work Environment This position works throughout RCI's operations, including: Warehouse and shop Company yard Vehicles and equipment Material suppliers Active construction projects Outdoor environments in all seasons The position involves regular physical activity, including lifting and moving tools and materials, loading and unloading equipment, working underneath vehicles, operating trucks and trailers, and working outdoors. About the Position This is an excellent position for someone who likes variety and does not want to perform the same task every day. One day may involve repairing a company truck, the next organizing and outfitting a job trailer, delivering equipment to a project, repairing tools, picking up materials, or assisting a construction crew in the field.
