Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Restoration Technician specializing in classic and collector vehicles . This role focuses on structural and cosmetic restoration , including metal repair, fabrication, welding, and body alignment. Candidates must hold Collision-related mechanical repair and/or Unitized Body Structural Repair Michigan Mechanic Certifications . While we are willing to train the right candidate, preference will be given to highly experienced technicians with a demonstrated history of superior craftsmanship, precision, and accountability. Our clients expect excellence, accuracy, and work completed correctly the first time. Key Responsibilities Perform metal repair and bodywork on classic and collector vehicles Fabricate panels and components as needed Welding and panel replacement , including structural repairs Diagnose and repair rust damage using proper restoration techniques Work with fiberglass components and specialty materials Complete full disassembly and reassembly of vehicle body components Execute precise body panel alignment and fitment Perform block sanding and surface preparation Apply priming and pre-paint preparation to restoration standards Maintain strict attention to detail throughout all restoration phases Follow project timelines while never compromising quality Required Qualifications Michigan Mechanic Certifications in: Collision-Related Mechanical Repair and/or Unitized Body Structural Repair Proven experience in auto body restoration or collision repair Strong fabrication and welding skills High level of precision, patience, and craftsmanship Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining restoration quality Professionalism, reliability, and pride in workmanship Preferred Qualifications Experience working on classic, vintage, or collector vehicles Advanced rust repair and metal shaping expertise Familiarity with period-correct restoration methods Ability to work independently while collaborating with a restoration team What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience and certifications Stable, year-round work in a growing restoration facility Opportunity to work on rare, classic, and collector vehicles A team culture that values craftsmanship, respect, and pride in work Long-term career growth for skilled technicians Why Jack Frost Auto?
