Career & Technical Education Teacher -Auto Mechanics Location:
Car Care Center Position Summary The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Teacher - Auto Mechanics is responsible for providing students with hands-on instruction and classroom learning in automotive technology, vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repair procedures, and workplace safety. The teacher prepares students for careers in the automotive industry by delivering industry-aligned curriculum, supervising laboratory activities, and promoting career readiness, technical skills, and professional behavior. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging instruction in automotive systems, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair. Teach students proper use of automotive tools, equipment, and diagnostic technology. Provide hands-on laboratory instruction in areas such as: Engine repair and performance Brake systems Electrical and electronic systems Steering and suspension HVAC systems Transmission and drivetrain systems Preventive maintenance and inspections Maintain a safe and organized classroom and automotive lab environment in compliance with OSHA and district safety standards. Assess student performance through classroom participation, projects, practical demonstrations, written tests, and industry-based assessments. Integrate employability skills such as communication, teamwork, professionalism, and problem-solving into instruction. Prepare students for industry certifications such as ASE Student Certification or other automotive credentialing programs. Maintain inventory, tools, equipment, and instructional materials for the automotive lab. Collaborate with school counselors, administrators, local businesses, and industry partners to support student success and work-based learning opportunities. Maintain accurate student records, grades, attendance, and required program documentation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to teach technical concepts in a clear and engaging manner. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to operate automotive tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment safely. Commitment to student achievement and career readiness. Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community partners.Benefits:
