Job Title:
Automotive Test TechnicianJob Description Join our dynamic engineering team as an Automotive Test Technician to test and validate diagnostic products against specifications in preparation for product release. In this role, you will perform pre-defined tests on designated vehicles for a new product currently in development. Responsibilities + Perform tests of new products on vehicles. + Track and report progress, recording pass/fail results. + Create issue reports in a database when tests fail. + Gather data from failed tests and assist engineers in problem analysis. + Plan, conduct, and deliver test results on time. + Perform other duties as assigned, with potential assignments extending into other areas with similar skill sets. Essential Skills + Experience conducting tests and repairs on vehicles. + Familiarity with automotive design or manufacturing. + Working knowledge of OBD II and CAN vehicle communication protocols is preferred. + Experience using automotive diagnostic tools. + Experience following work orders and test procedures related to shop tools and equipment. + Ability to communicate effectively to share test case results. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Minimum of a 2-year technical degree. + 5 years of related product test experience. + Solid written communication skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. + Experience writing test summaries and reports. + Experience writing failure reports in an issues database. + Experience using spreadsheets to gather and record vehicle test information. + Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Work Environment Work in an engineering lab and garage/shop hybrid environment. Engage in a highly structured and process-driven setting with predefined test steps and little deviation. Expect a repetitive testing environment with hands-on and light mechanical work. Utilize AC machines, carts, gauges, and basic tools while working independently within a small team structure. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Owatonna, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
