Job Title:
Mechanic Job Description Join a specialized manufacturing team that assembles custom concrete pumping equipment and stationary pumps. In this role, you will work under general supervision to build mid-sized stationary pumps and truck-mounted systems, following engineering drawings and build-to-order specifications. You will use hand and power tools, work with mechanical assemblies, and contribute directly to the production of high-value, made-to-order equipment. Responsibilities Obtain work instructions from the Build Book program on the computer and review all required parts and steps before starting each scheduled assembly project. Follow engineering drawings and bills of materials to assemble components accurately and request required parts from the Parts Department as needed. Lay out truck details according to engineering prints on a job-by-job basis to ensure correct placement and fit of all components. Perform final assembly of units, including installing hoods, electrical components, lights, labels, and other accessories according to customer specifications. Install hydraulic lines, fill systems with oil, and prepare equipment for required testing procedures. Prepare trucks for sub-frame assembly by disassembling, measuring, repositioning parts, installing new components, and reassembling the unit according to established procedures. Test assembled parts and products to verify proper function, quality, and adherence to specifications, and make adjustments as needed. Comply with workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and procedures at all times. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized, and good working condition. Use computer-based systems at each bay to access blueprints, order parts, and document work as required. Collaborate with other mechanics, assemblers, and departments such as welding, paint, and warehouse to complete builds efficiently. Perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned to support overall production and assembly operations. Essential Skills Minimum 6 months of hands-on mechanical work experience. Previous experience with heavy mechanical equipment (preferred but not strictly required). Ability to work overtime when needed. Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to learn to read blueprints and schematics. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools. Attention to detail when assembling components and following instructions. Ability to navigate and use a computer to access build instructions, parts lists, and blueprints. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to read blueprints accurately is preferred. Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge is preferred. Ownership of personal tools is preferred. Experience as an auto technician, mechanic, or mechanical assembler is highly relevant. Familiarity with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or production environment. Comfort working around large equipment and in a louder, industrial setting. Why Work Here? You will join a precision-focused manufacturing organization with a strong reputation and significant market presence. The company emphasizes quality, cross-training, and internal promotion, with many leaders having grown from entry-level roles. Once hired on directly, employees receive double time pay for hours worked over 48 in a week, performance-based pay increases, and flexibility in scheduling and start times. The organization offers strong benefits, opportunities for overtime for those who want it, and a $5,000 tuition reimbursement program for employees pursuing technical degrees aligned with the company's skill sets. You will work in a culture that values long-term growth, skill development, and advancement from within. Work Environment The role is based in a large manufacturing campus with multiple buildings dedicated to new vehicle and equipment production. Assembly and sub-assembly work takes place in multiple bays, each equipped with a computer for accessing parts ordering systems and blueprints, so you must be comfortable using basic computer tools. The environment involves working around large booms and heavy equipment in a louder but clean setting, focused on new manufacturing rather than service or repair work. The campus includes approximately eight separate buildings with an outdoor yard between them, as well as dedicated weld, paint, and warehouse facilities, and you may walk between buildings during the day. You will work alongside a team of about 35-40 mechanics in the area. The primary schedule is a first-shift role, typically 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional earlier start times (such as 5:00 a.m.) and overtime as needed.
