Overview Join our team as an After School Care Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for children and community members. In this energetic role, you will operate school and community buses with enthusiasm and professionalism, providing a positive experience for all passengers. Duties Safely operate school buses, paratransit vehicles, and other commercial transportation vehicles following all traffic laws and vehicle codes Transport children, seniors, or individuals with special needs to after-school programs, appointments, or community activities with care and punctuality Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, mechanical readiness, and compliance with safety protocols Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, school staff, and dispatchers to coordinate schedules and address any concerns Manage behavior on the bus through positive behavior management techniques to ensure a safe environment for all passengers Respond quickly to traffic changes or unexpected delays while maintaining professionalism and calmness during stressful situations Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Valid Mississippi CDL (Class B or appropriate class) Experience in bus driving or commercial driving preferred Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, defensive driving techniques, and emergency stop procedures Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable; excellent communication skills are essential Mechanical knowledge of vehicles for basic troubleshooting and maintenance awareness
