Job Description

Description ResponsibilitiesDetermine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic testing; identify worn or damaged parts.

Perform preventive maintenance, including component upgrades, corrosion control, and seasonal procedures.

Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling/disassembling, and replacing major assemblies and components (powertrain, electrical systems, A/C, fuel, emissions, brakes, steering, hydraulics, etc.).Complete machine shop operations and make necessary adjustments such as alignments, bearing load checks, gear tooth contact adjustments, valve mechanism adjustments, and control linkage corrections.

Conduct test drives to verify repairs and adjust systems for optimal performance.

Comply with federal and state vehicle regulations by performing required engine, safety, and emissions testing.

Maintain vehicle appearance through cleaning, washing, and minor painting.

Document all repairs and services performed to maintain accurate vehicle records.

Maintain and troubleshoot shop equipment; perform preventive maintenance and request repairs as needed.

Control costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating parts/service options.

Maintain adequate supplies by managing inventory, placing orders, and verifying deliveries.

Stay current by participating in training and reviewing updated technical/regulatory materials.

Support the maintenance department by taking initiative, embracing new tasks, and contributing to continuous improvement.

Skills & QualificationsMust have own toolsCDL required or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hireStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsAbility to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle systemsHigh school diploma or GED preferredStrong attention to detail and commitment to safetyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEOE, including disability/vets
