Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic automotive team as a Mechanic Assistant and be a vital part of delivering exceptional vehicle repair and maintenance services. In this energetic role, you will be helping with diesel service technicians or heavy vehicle mechanics diagnoses, repairs, and maintains heavy-duty semi-trucks, trailers, and diesel engines. Responsibilities Assist lead mechanics with diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics. Support with routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and suspension checks. Prepare vehicles for repair by lifting, jacking, and safely positioning them using hand tools and power tools. Help perform complex repairs including brake replacement, transmission work, engine diagnostics, diesel engine repairs, and electrical system troubleshooting. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. Follow safety protocols diligently when working with air brake systems, welding equipment, or automotive electrical systems. Assist in inspecting vehicles for auto body damage or mechanical issues to ensure quality service delivery. Experience Prior dealership experience or hands-on automotive repair background is highly preferred. Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), GM vehicles, and automotive schematics enhances your effectiveness in this role. Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in diesel engines, transmissions, powertrain components, shocks & struts, and suspension systems. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, automotive electrical systems diagnostics, and auto estimating software. Knowledge of automotive maintenance procedures such as oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, tire service, and vehicle inspections. Experience working with auto body repair or welding techniques is a plus. Strong customer service skills coupled with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members.
