Our fleet includes commercial trucks, trailers, aerial lifts, excavators, loaders, chippers, stump grinders, small engines, and other specialized tree-care equipment. This position combines hands-on mechanical work with preventative maintenance, maintenance records, parts inventory, and keeping our shop, yard, and equipment organized and ready for daily operations. Mechanical workload varies. As time allows, this position may assist with other company operational needs based on experience, training, and qualifications. Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel
  • and gasoline-powered trucks and equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and complete repairs within your experience and capabilities.
  • Service engine, hydraulic, electrical, brake, cooling, battery, lubrication, fluid, filtration, and related systems.
  • Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
  • Identify unsafe or non-operational equipment and communicate repair needs and expected downtime.
  • Coordinate specialized outside repairs when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate electronic maintenance records and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Track recurring mechanical issues and upcoming service needs.
  • Maintain parts, fluids, filters, lubricants, and maintenance supplies.
  • Keep the shop, yard, tools, trucks, trailers, and equipment organized and ready for daily operations. Requirements
  • 5+ years of diesel and/or heavy-equipment repair experience required.
  • Welding and fabrication experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general mechanical repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and prioritize repairs based on safety and operational needs.
  • Ability to maintain electronic maintenance records and use basic computer systems.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physical work in shop, yard, and outdoor environments.
  • Dependable, organized, safety-minded, and able to work independently. Preferred Qualifications
  • CDL.
  • Mechanical trade school education or certifications.
  • Welding/fabrication certifications or training.
  • Experience with commercial trucks, aerial lifts, excavators, loaders, chippers, stump grinders, or similar equipment.
  • Experience in tree care, construction, landscaping, forestry, agriculture, or another heavy-equipment industry. Schedule This is a year-round position with approximately 30-40 hours per week. Candidates may work a part-time schedule around 30 hours per week or a full-time schedule around 40 hours per week, depending on availability and company needs. Compensation & Benefits $22
  • 35/hour, based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and mechanical capabilities.
