Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Truck & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and machinery to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability. Your expertise will help keep our fleet operational and ready for demanding work environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment including trucks, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to deliver exceptional service. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and shock & strut replacements to maximize equipment lifespan. Fabricate parts and components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements. Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues effectively. Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently during repair or maintenance procedures. Assist with assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Skills Proven experience working as a mechanic in dealership environments or heavy equipment service settings. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics combined with expertise in heavy machinery operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for electrical systems and mechanical components. Skilled in welding, soldering, fabrication techniques along with the use of hand tools and power tools for repairs. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including brake repair, wheel alignment, suspension work, HVAC systems, hydraulics, shocks & struts replacement. Ability to perform diesel engine repairs along with understanding of transmissions and air brake systems. Excellent mechanical knowledge complemented by strong customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members. $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
