Full Job Description Job Description:
We are well-established, family-owned used car dealership and service center proudly serving the Merrimack community for over 14 years. We take pride in our reputation for quality vehicles, strong customer service, and a hardworking team environment. We are looking for a Service Writer / Service Advisor to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with automotive experience who can help keep our service department organized and efficient. The right candidate will be responsible for coordinating repairs, ordering parts, communicating with technicians and vendors, tracking vehicle status, and helping control repair costs for internal inventory and customer vehicles. This is a hands-on operational role for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Open and manage repair orders Communicate with technicians regarding repair needs, parts, and timelines Order parts and help ensure parts are received on time Work with outside vendors and repair shops as needed Help keep repair costs under control, especially for internal inventory vehicles Track vehicle status through inspection, repair, and completion Coordinate service workflow to help minimize downtime Maintain accurate notes, repair updates, and internal tracking records Communicate with management regarding repair status, delays, and needed approvals Assist in making sure completed vehicles are properly finished and ready for the lot or customer delivery Support general service department organization and daily operations
Requirements:
Previous automotive experience required Experience as a service writer, service advisor, parts coordinator, or similar role preferred Strong organizational and multitasking skills Good communication and follow-through Basic understanding of vehicle repairs and parts Ability to work well with technicians, vendors, and management Comfortable using a computer for estimates, notes, and tracking Valid driver's license required
Preferred Qualifications:
Used car dealership experience Experience ordering automotive parts Experience controlling repair costs and tracking repair progress Familiarity with internal inventory recon process Ability to stay organized under pressure and keep multiple jobs moving at once
