Job Description

As an Automotive Technician at Rock Ridge Nissan Infiniti part of the Generation Auto Group collection, you are responsible for accurately inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to manufacturer and dealership standards. You play a key role in ensuring every vehicle is safe, dependable, and repaired correctly the first time. Your technical skill, attention to detail, and efficiency directly impact customer satisfaction, shop productivity, and the overall success of our service operations.
What You'll Be Doing:
The primary functions of this role include, but are not limited to: Vehicle Maintenance, Diagnostics & Repair Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, fluid exchanges, filter replacements, and battery services. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns in accordance with Nissan, Infiniti and dealership standards. Inspect vehicles, verify customer concerns, perform approved repairs, and ensure vehicles are operating safely and properly prior to delivery. Communicate any additional repair needs, warranty concerns, or situations requiring management assistance. Training & Technical Development Complete all required Nissan & Infiniti training and certification programs. Stay current on Nissan & Infiniti products, emerging automotive technologies, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques. Actively pursue ongoing professional development to enhance technical knowledge and career growth. Documentation & Multi-Point Inspections Accurately document diagnostic findings, repair procedures, parts usage, and labor operations. Perform thorough digital Multi-Point Inspections, including both photo and video documentation when required. Provide clear, detailed technician notes to support customer recommendations and service records. Teamwork & Communication Work collaboratively with Service Advisors, Parts Department personnel, Dispatch, and Management to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction. Communicate repair progress, parts requirements, additional service recommendations, and completion status in a timely manner. Assist fellow technicians and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment. Quality, Safety & Customer Satisfaction Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with dealership standards. Operate equipment and vehicles safely while following all dealership policies and manufacturer guidelines. Take pride in delivering quality work, accurate repairs, and a professional presentation of every vehicle. Ensure all vehicles are returned clean, properly protected, and ready for customer delivery.
What We're Looking For:
Hold a valid and clean driver's license Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated Able to stand for 6-8 hours per day Able to bend, stretch, reach, climb, and lift up to 70 lbs Own a complete set of tools and toolbox Proficient with diagnostic tools, equipment, and tablet-based applications Comfortable using computer software and dealership systems Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional appearance and demeanor Flexible schedule, including the ability to work Saturdays Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing technologies Nissan or Infiniti dealership experience is strongly preferred. Technicians with experience servicing other Japanese automotive brands, including Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Subaru, Mazda, and Mitsubishi, are also highly encouraged to apply. Signing bonus may be available for highly qualified technicians based on experience, manufacturer certifications, technical skill level, and overall qualifications.
