Overview Join our dynamic team as a Truck Shop Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and equipment! In this energetic role, you'll diagnose, troubleshoot, and service a wide range of trucks, and heavy-duty trailers. Your expertise will keep our fleet operating smoothly and safely, ensuring optimal performance across various industries. Also, instead of working in an atmosphere of rush rush rush you will control the pace to run your shop. Lower stress but will require self-management and clerical administrative skills to maintain records. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and other heavy equipment components Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, and fluid checks to ensure vehicles meet DOT safety standards Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to accurately identify issues and implement effective solutions Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs Inspect vehicles for safety compliance and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection logs to ensure transparency and accountability Skills Proven experience working as a mechanic in dealership or industrial settings with strong knowledge of truck diesel diagnostics. Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; capable of customizing or repairing parts as needed Familiarity with Cummins , and Detriot motors Ability to read schematics accurately for electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension components, HVAC systems, and transmissions Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, and specialized equipment for vehicle maintenance Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently Experience with tire service procedures including mounting/demounting tires on large wheels; ability to perform heavy lifting safely Customer service orientation with clear communication skills for interacting with team members or clients when needed Join us in keeping our fleet running at peak performance!
